LOOKING AFTER YOUR HEALTH – THE BEST PREVENTION AGAINST RESPIRATORY DISEASES ADEQUATE NUTRITION (IMPORTANT HINTS)

Fats, too, have to be chosen with care. Do not use kidney fat and lard, other animal fat or hardened fat, or margarine made with these fats. Instead, use unrefined oils, fresh unsalted butter, almonds and nuts. Be sure to go very easy on seasonings; use table salt as little as possible. Hot spices such as pepper and nutmeg should also be avoided, if possible. It is better to season your food with savory, thyme, marjoram, basil, coriander, in other words all the popular garden or kitchen herbs. Yeast extract {Herbaforce and Plantaforce) is a wholesome flavouring since it contains the vitamins of the В complex. Gravies and sauces seasoned with yeast extract taste like meat gravy and are welcome additions to a meal.

Another important hint is to avoid eating fruit and vegetables together at the same meal. Keep them apart and you will be able to avoid fermentations in the bowels, hence stomach or intestinal gas or wind. Have fruit and wholegrain or wholemeal bread, crisp-bread or flake bread in the morning and evening. Together with this, have some honey, butter and, if possible, a fruit muesli with various berries or malaceous fruits (those with pips, for example apples) according to what is in season. Stone fruits, such as plums, apricots and peaches, are likely to disagree with most people unless eaten in small quantities. For lunch, eat brown rice, potatoes and cereals, with steamed vegetables and plenty of raw salads. Cut back on fried food. If you must have meat, choose veal and beef rather than pork, sausages and processed meats. Remember, too, at instead of frying, grilling is by far the better method of preparing meat for the table.
